A retreat for body and soul

Center yourself once again before the stressful pre-Christmas period begins. Take a deep breath while hiking in the salty climate and relax in the yoga practice. Yoga in the morning to wake up, after breakfast a longer, relaxed hike through the unique nature of Borkum, and in the afternoon another yoga session. A balanced mix of recharging your batteries by the sea and finding strength within yourself.

We would like to offer you this special weekend that combines hiking and yoga – because we think: both complement each other perfectly. For this we have chosen the special place of power that is Borkum (and incidentally also Eagle’s home). We are running the retreat with 2 trainers – Tini is a professional yoga teacher and will do the yoga part, Karen as Eagle will do the hiking as usual. As always, we want to offer you a comfortable and pleasantly manageable environment. That’s why the number of participants is limited to 8.

Thursday, November 16, 2023:
Individual arrival at Borkum, check-in to the apartments
Getting to know each other
Joint dinner
Yoga session: gentle stillness – relax and arrive.

Friday, November 17, 2023:
Morning yoga: gentle power flow, pranayama (breathing) practice
Breakfast
Ca. 4 hour hike through Greune Stee and west side of the island.
Yoga session: stretch and release 
Joint dinner 

Saturday, November 18, 2023:
Morning yoga: strengthening asanas
Breakfast
Ca. 4-5 hour hike along the north beach
Yoga session: power yoga
Joint dinner.

Sunday, November 19, 2023:
Breakfast
Walking excercise on the beach or yoga session: yin yoga with tuning forks and hot stones
End of program: 12.30

“Hello, I’m Tini. I enjoy exercise, have a good sense of humor and therefore often don’t take life and myself too seriously. I love simplicity in things, whether it’s a good coffee in the morning, my minimalist lifestyle or camping with our ever faithful companion named Gustav. My motto is: Happiness is a choice. I am a vinyasa yoga teacher and came to yoga through a car accident. In my yoga classes you are the most important person. I support you in your practice, whether you are a beginner or a yoga professional. In doing so, I always offer you recommendations – whether you want to implement them, it is up to you. My goal is to make you smile as you move into the deepest asanas. I’m known for my unique approach of combining hot stones, tuning forks and Reiki to get you vibrating. If you’re in the mood for a dose of humor, a dash of lightness and movement, let’s get on the mat together and create magic. Namaste with a twinkle.”

Price: € p.p. in a studio room for single use, breakfast is included. 2 guided day hikes, 5 yoga sessions plus activity on Sunday (yoga, hiking, walking) according to weather and demand.

Accommodation:

You will stay in the team house of borkum SPORT, centrally located but still quiet.

Travel to the island, ferry, food and drinks for the hikes, dinner

Application deadline: October 31, 2023

Online Info session: November 5, 2023 7 p.m.

Prerequisites: Hiking up to max 5 hours walking time, paved surface and sand. Yoga: no previous experience required.

Difficulty: Hiking: Technique 1, Condition 1.

Arrival: We recommend to arrive either by train or at least to leave the car on mainland! Recommended arrival: with the ferry from Emden to Borkum (on Novemver 16 at 16.45, travel time approx. 2 hours), return with the catamaran (November 19 at 15.15, travel time approx. 1 hour). Alternatively ferry from Eemshaven to Borkum (Novemvber 16 at 12, travel time approx. 50 min, November 19 return at 13.30). Flight with OFD Emden / Borkum (several connections per day).
