Rheinsteig

The Rheinsteig is one of the oldest premium hiking trails in Germany. I decided to offer a long weekend on the Rheinsteig just for women. Trying out what long-distance hiking is like, as preparation for the next mountain tour, or just for fun.

Accordingly, the motives of the 5 women who are going on the tour are also very different. But they all have one thing in common: they are all incredibly nice, very patented and give this tour a certain female flavour right from the start: a very relaxed atmosphere, everyone helping everyone, being there for each other rather than being in competition – and the best: conversations, conversations, conversations.

It is hot and humid on all three days that we are on the road. We enjoy the view from the Drachenfels and the Erpeler Ley just as much as the walks along the Rhine in the evenings. The waffles at the Bergesruh are excellent – but we are best fed at the Akropolis Grill in Bad Honnef. Actually a snack bar, the Akropolis Grill has a great terrace for sitting outside and an extensive menu where everyone can find something to their liking.

The hiking statistice is almost negligible with so many highlights: we cover more than 55 km and 1,700 meters of altitude in the three days – and more to come!
