March 29 – April 1, 2024
Egg hunting in the mountains? We have found three great eastereggs for you in the Tyrolean mountains. Plansee. Blindsee. Lake Uri.
Plansee, Blindsee and Lake Uri are picturesquely nestled in the Tyrolean mountains. Each one is a little dream in itself. At the beginning of the year, the lakes offer crystal-clear water and, with a bit of luck, you may be able to go ice diving at Lake Urisee.
At around 1,000 metres above sea level, all three lakes are genuine mountain lakes.
The smallest of them, Lake Uri, offers good opportunities for ice diving at this time of year thanks to its depth of “only” 25 metres. But there is also plenty else to discover here.
The Blindsee is not much deeper, but has more surface area. In addition to its high abundance of fish, a landslide many years ago ensured that today many large tree trunks make for a fascinating diving experience.
With a maximum depth of 77 metres and an area of 280 hectares, Plansee is the largest of the three lakes and offers excellent visibility as well as many things to discover underwater.
The lakes are close to each other, so travelling times are short.
The temperatures of the clear mountain lakes and the option of ice diving mean that we clearly recommend a dry suit. The chance of fresh, clear weather and equally clear water is high.
