March 15 – 17, 2024

One of the most beautiful long-distance hiking trails in the north – the Heidschnuckenweg in the Lüneburg Heath. We will pick out the most beautiful section between Buchholz and Schneverdingen.

You want to improve your fitness to tackle mountain tours, or try what it’s like to hike from place to place with only a backpack – then this is your tour. A tour from the series “Hiking in the vicinity” of the German Alpine Club, Bremen Section.

From Buchholz to Schneverdingen on the Heidschnuckenweg – via the Pferdekopf (“horse’s head”) into the heath villages Handeloh and Undeloh, via the Wilsede “mountain” and the Spitzbubenweg. Enjoy the peace and quiet in the outgoing winter, walking, gaining fitness and possibly experience.

The Lüneburg Heath has hardly any differences in altitude – but the landscape has its special charm even in winter. We hike about 4 hours on the first day, on the other two days about 6 – 7 hours.

Accommodation is in simple hotels in the heath. Single room on request, otherwise double room. Since the start and end points are different, arrival and departure by train is recommended.
